Use a Roof Rack Effectivelyhttp://preview.dealer.com/managed-services/copywriting/fixedops/accessories/roofrail/banner/0003.jpgThe last thing you want to encounter is a bunch of sporting equipment or boxes flying off of your roof as you travel down the road at 60 MPH. A roof rack needs to be used properly. At Team Hodges, we’re here to offer some advice.First, be sure that you know the weight limit of your roof. This information is in your owner’s manual. Next, add a blanket or pad on the roof so that you don’t scratch your paint. Lay everything you’re going to put onto the roof together, between or on the racks.Secure your items using bungee cords, straps, or rope. It’s a good idea to have three to four contact points on the racks. Before you go on any kind of trip, take a drive around the block to test for a shift. If nothing has shifted, you should be good to go.
