Cadillac began its electric future nearly four years ago with a clear goal: to carry the brand’s legacy of innovation into a new era. Long associated with the slogan “The Standard of the World,” Cadillac has always stood for forward-thinking design, advanced technology, and a premium driving experience.

That spirit of innovation goes back more than a century. Cadillac earned two Dewar Trophies, including one recognizing the first electric self-starter in automotive history in 1912. Since then, the brand has continued to build its reputation around excellence, craftsmanship, and quality.

This newest chapter began with the introduction of the LYRIQ. Since the first LYRIQ arrived in Cadillac showrooms, the brand has sold more than 100,000 electric vehicles.

That is a major milestone, especially in a market shaped by changing tax policies, fluctuating fuel prices, and evolving customer expectations. Cadillac has shown that luxury EV shoppers are looking for more than electric power alone. They want design, comfort, technology, performance, and the refined experience Cadillac is known for.

One Hundred Thousand Electric Vehicle Sales Chart

The LYRIQ opened the door, but Cadillac’s electric portfolio has grown quickly. The lineup now includes the smaller two-row OPTIQ, the three-row VISTIQ, the MotorTrend SUV of the Year Escalade IQ, the extended-length Escalade IQL, and Cadillac’s ultimate electric flagship, the CELESTIQ.

Cadillac has also brought its legendary V-Series performance name into the electric era with the OPTIQ-V and LYRIQ-V. These models raise the bar for what efficient, exhilarating performance can feel like in a modern luxury SUV.

This sales achievement is especially meaningful because many Cadillac EV buyers are coming from other brands. According to Cadillac, three-quarters of these EV sales included trade-ins from owners of other luxury brands, including startup EV manufacturers.

There is also growing evidence that EV ownership can inspire strong loyalty. Once drivers experience the quiet performance, instant response, and everyday convenience of an EV, many are likely to choose another electric vehicle next. For Cadillac, that creates an opportunity to build deeper relationships with a new generation of luxury customers.

Cadillac’s electric momentum has not gone unnoticed. Publications and organizations such as J.D. Power, Car and Driver, MotorTrend, and WardsAuto have recognized the brand’s advancements in design, technology, safety, and innovation. Adding to that recognition, Fast Company named Cadillac one of the Most Innovative Companies in Automotive for 2026.

So, what comes next for Cadillac’s EV lineup? The possibilities are wide open. V-Series electric performance models and the bespoke CELESTIQ point toward a future where excellence is expected every time. With available features like Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology, along with the attention to detail that has defined Cadillac for generations, the brand is positioned to keep setting new benchmarks.
